August 2026 Newsletter

Hello everyone, Tim Jackson here from JJ&S Environmental Services.

August is an ideal month to turn seasonal awareness into action. Before fall arrives, property teams can use this time to revisit past trouble spots, complete deferred maintenance, confirm response contacts, and make sure documentation procedures are ready if weather-related damage occurs.

This month’s newsletter also looks beyond storm preparation. We’re sharing a recent lead abatement project that demonstrates how proper planning and coordination help protect occupants while keeping work moving. You’ll also find a new asbestos FAQ resource for common questions that arise during renovation, demolition, and property maintenance.

To round things out, we’ve included several upcoming industry events and a link to the complete August events calendar for opportunities to learn and connect across California and INDUSTRY NIGHTS ARE BACK - get more details today!

The goal is simple: provide your team with practical information today that can help prevent uncertainty and disruption tomorrow.

ABATEMENT PROJECTS

We are proud of a recent project related to lead abatement for commercial and institutional projects that turned into a huge success!. Is well known that older buildings can contain lead-based materials that need to be handled carefully before renovation, demolition, or repair work moves forward.

A recent example is our work at Pomona Unified School District, where JJ&S Environmental Services completed a large-scale lead and asbestos abatement project at a school facility in Pomona. The scope included more than 25,000 square feet of hazardous material removal under a strict 40-business-day timeline.

Projects like this show why early environmental planning matters. Proper containment, documentation, trained crews, and clear coordination help keep commercial projects organized, safe, and on schedule.
