July 2026 Newsletter

Hello everyone, Tim Jackson here from JJ&S Environmental Services.

July’s newsletter brings together a few important updates for property teams, contractors, restoration partners, and community managers across California.

We’re highlighting El Niño awareness as NOAA forecasters have confirmed that El Niño conditions are present and expected to strengthen into the Northern Hemisphere winter, with a 63% chance of a very strong El Niño during the November through January period.

Even when El Niño is strong, impacts are not guaranteed everywhere, but stronger events can increase the odds of expected weather patterns and seasonal extremes. Now, it's time for you to test your skills. See the quiz below:

How Ready Are You for El Niño Conditions?

El Niño can bring changing weather patterns, heavier rain potential, drainage concerns, moisture intrusion, and storm-related property issues across California. Take our short readiness quiz to see how prepared your property or team is before conditions become urgent.

Quick quiz. Practical takeaways. Built for property teams, contractors, restoration professionals, and homeowners.

INDUSTRY ABATEMENT PROJECTS + EVENTS

We are proud of a recent project related to lead abatement for commercial and institutional projects that turn into a huge success!. Is well known that older buildings can contain lead-based materials that need to be handled carefully before renovation, demolition, or repair work moves forward.

A recent example is our work at Pomona Unified School District, where JJ&S Environmental Services completed a large-scale lead and asbestos abatement project at a school facility in Pomona. The scope included more than 25,000 square feet of hazardous material removal under a strict 40-business-day timeline.

Projects like this show why early environmental planning matters. Proper containment, documentation, trained crews, and clear coordination help keep commercial projects organized, safe, and on schedule.

Last but not least, we wanted to spotlight this month’s main industry event: Dodgers Night with CAI Greater Los Angeles, a great opportunity to connect with community association professionals and local partners outside the usual meeting setting.
